Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Butter with Gift Tags

My parents had given me a bunch of apples off of their tree and I left them on my counter.  While cleaning the kitchen, I wondered what I could do with apples that had gone soft?  I googled for ideas and came up with this recipe.  It's a combination of several recipes that I found, but it came out great!  I thought that I had better write it down so that I could remember.  That's when I decided to post it on my blog.

I found these caramels at a local store.  They were so easy to use because you don't have to unwrap each caramel.  I love caramel so much that I think that I actually added about a bag and a half.

For the Honey I always use Cox's Honey.  It is my favorite honey!

After cooking the recipe I put it into these small pint sized jars.  It made a little over 4 jars.

Since I was giving them out as gifts I found some material and string to decorate the lid.  I used a small plate to make a circle, then cut out the material with pinking shears.

I used a rubber band to hold the material over the lid
while I tied the string.

Then I added the cute gift tag.  I printed the tag on a light brown card stock..  The printout is below.  Just click on it to make it large, then copy and paste it into your printing program.  You can also right click and save it into your pictures.
