The Ice Cream Post - Money Can't Buy Everything, But It Can Buy Ice Cream!

This post is honor of my daughter, Alyssa.  She is serving as a missionary in Guatemala.  Her favorite thing is ice cream, so I made this little printout to send her.  If you would like to print it out just click on the picture to make it larger, then right click it to save it into your pictures or copy and paste it.

Alyssa was our ice cream maker.  Here are her two favorite recipes:

A Four Dollar Valentine's Wreath

As I was taking down my Winter decorations, I realized that I did not have a Valentine's wreath for my door.  So to the dollar store I went.  I bought a bunch of stuff that I thought that I could use.
For the base I hot glued the two wired hearts together.  This way it was a little more sturdy, and a little fluffier. ($2)
Then I hot glued three of the pink cut out hearts ($1).
And finished by hot gluing the plastic chocolate stickers all the way around the wreath ($1).  This was tricky because they would melt.  Maybe try a low temp glue gun.
The hardest part was removing all of the glue gun strings.  It was easy, cheap and fun.  It only needs to last for a few weeks, so it doesn't have to be very sturdy.  Now my door is ready for Valentine's Day!

Bugs and Kisses FREE Printout for a treat bag topper - Halloween or Valentine's Day

Here's a great Halloween or Valentine's gift bag idea that's different from the usual gifts.

Print out the topper of the bag onto
a sheet of cardstock.
Then attach the topper to a
5" cellophane treat bag.
(Instructions below.)

The printout will make four treat bag toppers.
Size the printout to fit a full page.
Be sure to print it out on cardstock so that it will be sturdy.

To Print out the treat bag topper:
Just click on the picture to make it larger, then right click and save it into your pictures, or copy and paste it into you printing program.

To see the instructions in greater detail scroll down the page.

Here are the printouts:

Happy Halloween:

I also have an older post (see below) that is just gift tags.

Happy Valentine's Day:

Here's a single version that you can
resize to whatever size that you need:

Instructions on how to make a a treat topper:

Here's how easy they are to make:

Print the graphic on to card stock.

Fold graphic over at the top along the top red edge:

Cut around the red edge on the two sides and the bottom,
but do not cut the top red edge at the fold.

The closer you cut to the red line, the more professional your treat bag will look.

I cut the 5" wide cellophane bag at about 5" high,
but you can make it as long as you like.

Fill the bag with kisses and bugs.

Tape the top of the cellophane bag to the inside of the card at the bottom edge (see above).
This step just makes it easier to staple.

Fold the card over and then put 3 or 4 staples
across the bottom red edge.

Make sure to get the front and the back layer of the topper so that the bag is securely attached.

Then cut out a little bite in the upper
left corner of the card.

Now you have an impressive treat bag to
give to your guests!

I hope that your "Bugs and Kisses"
treat bags were a big hit.
